A science communicator, writer, film curator, television programmer and team builder Shri Nimish Kapoor is working in Vigyan Prasar, Department of Science & Technology, Govt. of India from last 16 years. At present, as Scientist E / Principal Scientist, he is heading the Science Films' Division, Publications Division and India Science Wire, science news and feature service. He is a certified Google News Initiative trainer on fact verification.
He is associated with the planning and execution of National and International Science Film Festivals of India, flagship events of Vigyan Prasar; initiated training programmes, series of workshops and appreciation courses on science communication, science film making to promote the culture of science communication and science films in Indian universities, mass communication institutes and film schools.
Associated as Member, Board of Studies and Guest Faculty of Science Communication with various Universities / Media Schools including ITMI. Expert Member of committees/decision-making bodies of Public Health Film Society, UK; UNICEF; Doordarshan, CIET-NCERT, CEMCA, MHRD-CHD, CMS Vatavaran, NCSM etc.; Recipients of numerous awards in science communication.
